The currents were overtly strong! I was literally horizontal with my fins facing one direction. It is also my first try at doing Line Intercept Transect! OMG! Coral ID is really not easy and I need a lot more practice and reading...
After that, I helped out with the mobile invert survey and here are some of the photos that I've managed while holding onto coral rubbles!
Chromodoris fidelis

Hypselodoris emma

Thuridilla gracilis

Basket star on sea fan

It was such an exhausting trip that all members fell asleep after they reached home! :P
Pulau Jong_17 Nov 2010
It is one of those rare days where you can 1) dive at Jong; 2) not get swept away by currents; 3) with visibility of 6-8m! OMG! The water was so clear that top-down vis was almost to the bottom of reef flat! Ahh! The team was already excited by the good vis...
Like the last survey, I did my second attempt at LIT and I think I'm getting a little better! :) The surveys were completed in a smooth transition that we could go for a short leisure right after work! Yippee~! Here's what we saw..
Glossodoris cincta - the elusive nudi!! It's my first time seeing this pretty nudibranch when everyone has seen it before... hehe... Chay Hoon too saw this for her first time... Such a psychedelic nudibranch!

Cuthona sibogae - ahh! My other wish come true... :D

Phyllid sp..

Unusual swaying stuff on the substrate... Egg cases?

Zoanthids of what kind I wonder? Chay Hoon and I also spotted blue morphs of zoanthids...

Octo-corals...

I love how the mesh of sponge inter-linked. :)

Iconic seastar

A first sea cucumber after so many dives! It looks different... Pink bumpy body??

Overall, the dives, though filled with pretty animals, was rather quiet... We didn't see animals in abundance but in ones or twos... I wonder if it's because the water is much cooler, hence fewer animals... Where do they go? I can't wait for the end of the month dives! :D
